Dr. Jacob Haus is a Certified Wildlife Biologist® and Associate Professor of Biology at Bemidji State University, where he leads the Deer Ecology Lab. His research focuses on the ecology and management of large mammals, with an emphasis on white-tailed deer. His interests include population ecology, survival and mortality, movement ecology, animal behavior, and applied wildlife management.

Dr. Haus uses GPS telemetry and other emerging technologies to study free-ranging wildlife and translate research into information useful for wildlife managers. His teaching emphasizes applied wildlife ecology, field-based learning, and student involvement in research. He has been a faculty member at Bemidji State University since 2019.
