The chief financial officer (CFO) of an
organization oversees the internal and external activities of a firm. The controller
reports directly to the CFO and is concerned with the collection, measurement, and
evaluation of financial data generated from internal operations of the firm. The treasurer
reports directly to the CFO and is concerned with financial markets and institutions, the
external activities of the firm. These activities include credit management,
communications with shareholders, foreign financial arrangements and external
acquisitions. |
