Push Press –resubmit your last eval if you did it already

Triceps extension - lying

Shoulder Press

Power Clean

2 agility drills

2 lower body plyos

2 upper body plyos

A drill form running

Sprinting with good technique

 

3.                  Development of a resistance/conditioning program – First Draft due April 18 and should include 1a, b, and c below.  This will be worth 50 points.  Final project is due May 1.

 Students will design a strength/power program to improve performance for a sport of their choice.  The following should guide students in the development of this program.  The exercises should be designed to improve performance for that sport.

a.      The program should include periodization phases of base, strength, power, peaking and last for at least 16 weeks of off-season or pre-season.  The phases of periodization must include changes in exercises, load, volume, rests between sets, frequency of training.  Be sure to indicate the sport and the season.

b.      The program should include other conditioning exercises that would be appropriate for that sport in the off-season or pre-season. 

c.      A 1-3 page explanation for the selection of the exercises, load, volume, rest intervals, etc. must be included.

1)      This explanation must based on readings from books and journals.  At least three references must be cited, the textbook may be one.

d.      Students will design a weight room to accommodate a the sport for which they have developed the above conditioning program.  This should include the type and amount of equipment, the floor plan, the size of the facility, and the cost of the weight equipment (not the facility).

e.      The plan should include record keeping forms for the program developed above

f.        The plan should include examples of policies/rules to be posted in a facility

 

4.                  A project/assignment that you determine in lieu of the final exam.  You are encouraged to develop a project that helps you learn more or develop skills in an area that you think will benefit you.  This is due .

a.      Look at the course objectives and then determine what you think you haven’t mastered to your expectations

b.      Propose a project that you estimate will take at least 3 hours but not more than 5 hours to complete

c.      Submit your proposal to the course instructor for approval

d.      Then begin work!

e.      You are encouraged to be creative and develop useful projects.
